Description


Responsibilities:
  • Delivers teaching in a didactic manner and provides experiential instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a ‘blended’ format) in the Pharmaceutical HealthCare Business (PHCB), PharmD and other programs within the PBAS department.
  • Provides students an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
  • Provides interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
  • Uses the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students.
  • Advises and assists students through in-person office hours or scheduled appointments, by phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms.
  • Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.
  • Assists program director in developing the curriculum, including the internship program with domestic and global internship options.
  • Attends and participates in monthly School and Department meetings, University ceremonies, and other major events, and serves as a member of University, School and/or Department committees, as assigned.
  • Contributes to periodic reviews and revisions of departmental course offerings.
  • Maintains advanced knowledge in discipline and areas of expertise.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with professional organizations involved with the healthcare sector
  • Develops and maintains relationships with healthcare industry executives (including MCPHS University alumni) from across the full spectrum of global healthcare.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related discipline; terminal degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in pharmaceutical, device or healthcare business
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience at the college level
  • Commitment to undergraduate education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and entrepreneurial experience
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry executives)
  • Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment
  • Evidence of potential for continuing professional development
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
