Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Business
  • MBA would be an added benefit.
  • Experience in Pharmacy operations or drug manufacturing an added benefit.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as COO or relevant role in Retail Chain Operations (minimum of 8 years)
  • International Retail Company Operations experience preferred
  • Understanding of and or experience in business functions such as Retail Chain Operations and supporting central functions such as IT, Procurement, Logistics, HR, Finance, Marketing, business development
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office.
  • Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • MBA is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Implement business strategies, plans and procedures in managing fast growing, international standard pharmacy chain.
  • Grow the top line of the business with appropriate marketing and building partnerships, and by ensuring the pharmacies provide excellent customer service to build a loyal client base. Improve the bottom line by ensuring all operations run efficiently and effectively at all times.
  • Assist the CEO in developing and building the platform for enhanced, highly scalable, multi-site operations.
  • Execute and maintain financial, operational and customer service success of the chain.
  • Preparing and maintaining internal Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Implement appropriate systems and controls to achieve the objectives and minimise fraud.
  • Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of executives (Procurement, IT, Sales/Retail Outlet Operations, Logistics)
  • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
  • Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Participate in expansion activities (investments, corporate alliances etc.)
  • Manage relationships with partners/vendors, all other stakeholders
  • Ensure timely reporting of monthly results to the Board.
  • Report on results and operations at quarterly Board meetings.
