ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish, build and maintain relationship with key external stakeholders at Italian Regional level by providing disease state education and communicating the clinical value of the Company therapeutic platform
Contribute to company success through the gathering of medical insights and participating the scientific discussion with regional experts in ophthalmology
Represent the Company and our therapeutic platform at relevant local regional Italian scientific congress and meetings
Contribute in identifying qualified collaborators to participate in company sponsored activities (eg: speaker, investigator, consultant)
Maintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise in our therapeutic areas
Adhere to corporate compliance policies in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups, and unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
Assists in internal and external training events
Travel expectation at least 65%; geographic location in the central southern Italian regions highly desired but other locations may be considered

ABOUT YOUR PROFILE:

Scientific academic formation required, MD or PhD preferred, but also Pharmacist, Biologist, Chemist, or similar scientific degree. Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs preferable. Experience in ophthalmology and/or biotechnologies is a plus.
Adequate knowledge of Italian health system organization and local access to market key issues
Product launch experience desired
Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external customers, in compliance to Italian laws
Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative; ability to anticipate and adapt to change; strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with partners, investigators, contractors, consultant, and team members across functions
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently yet engage in collaboratively within field team to complete task in a timely fashion
Independently motivated, detail oriented and good problem solving ability
Excellent organization skills, with an ability to embrace change and multi task in an extremely fast paced environmental
