Job Description

The Director of Market Access will develop and implement strategic plans for the Canada business using customer insights and deep market landscape understanding to establish market access strategy including price monitoring requirements. This position is charged with executing strategies that ensure market access, support successful launch execution and support business objectives.
  • Responsible for integration of market access and channel related market insights into the overarching Brand/Disease strategy.
  • Contribute on the branding planning and strategic imperatives to ensure Brands/Disease teams maximize reimbursement and formulary access and address evolving market dynamics with solutions that deliver competitive market and patient access, drive provider engagement and ultimately support improved patient care.
  • Collaborate with Brand teams to establish new product value propositions
  • Requires a demonstrated ability to manage and pivot between products, customers and high stakeholder layers quickly, effectively and successfully.
  • Integrate market access and channel related market insights into Brand/Disease strategy, planning and strategic imperatives
  • Incorporate extensive knowledge of payers and customer segment insights in the development of go-to market strategies, landscape assessment and account segmentation to achieve financial targets.
  • Engage with Global teams on product and brand reimbursement strategies, key activities and market access issues

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Launch and/or strategic market access (Oncology/ Hematology and/or Specialty Medicine strongly desired)
  • New Product launch and value proposition development experience strongly desired. A team player able to communicate and deal with any issues resolution.
  • Understanding pCODR and CDATH CDR processes including the Pan Canadian drug alliance process.
  • Understanding of current market access landscape and evolving macro-trends including scientific innovation, transformation of healthcare delivery, heightened focus on value and technology enabled engagement and information
  • Understanding of HEOR principles and understanding of the private payor market in Canada
  • Excellent strategic ability, people management and ability to develop and lead cross functional teams
  • Executive presence, strong collaboration and ability to simply communicate complex concepts
