Position Responsibilities

• Perform the administration, change, configuration, design, development, deployment, evolution, integration, maintenance, programming, and qualification of assigned Client-Server Computer Systems, Equipment Control Systems, Process Control Systems, Historical Data Systems, and SQL Databases.
• Maintain assigned GMP automation systems in a current, secure, and validated state in accordance with Zoetis Standards, including all regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Support site manufacturing, safety, quality, and environmental automation and related information needs.
• Participate on capital project teams to provide automation expertise through conceptual design and scoping, request for proposals, requirements definition, preliminary design, detailed design, hardware and software procurement, assembly and installation, code construction, validation, training, cutover to production, continued enhancement and on-going 24x7 troubleshooting and maintenance support.
• Maintain knowledge of updated and new automation technologies and industry practices and recommend adopting or deploying as necessary to enhance automation effectiveness and insure continued viability of installed infrastructure.
• Install, maintain, and inspect control system and workstation installations throughout the facility. Inspect and review manufacturing equipment installations for design and troubleshooting purposes.
• Supervise and manage contract personnel as required to accomplish the department mission.
• Provide periodic system operation training on the assigned automation systems.

Education and Experience

• BS in Computer Science Degree or BS in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years defining, developing, designing, documenting, changing, maintaining, programming, qualifying, and troubleshooting client-server computer systems, equipment control systems, process control systems, and SQL databases.
• MS SQL database administration and application development expertise and experience preferred
• Expertise using Microsoft office and project management tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project) required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and working in a team-based environment are essential for success in this position.

Technical Skills and Competencies

Required capability, working knowledge, or understanding of the following:

• Proficient in German, both oral and written, with sound technical writing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and working in a team-based environment are essential for success in this position.
