Description


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge and experience of the Pharmacy/pharmaceutical regulations from a Global, National and provincial perspective
  • Awareness of the various workflow processes which includes people, process and technologies for pharmacies – procurement through to dispensing and electronic medical record
  • Regulatory requirements which includes professional practice, government and associations
  • Develops a deep understanding of and documents the standard operating procedures for the various pharmacy business use cases relevant to GS1 Canada’s Industry Managed Solutions (IMS)
  • Collaborates with GS1 Canada’s Industry Relations team to achieve pharmaceutical vendor adoption, and develop Best Practice guidelines to share with external stakeholders;
  • Develops and leads the execution of stakeholder strategies to build adoption of and support for GS1 Canada’s IMS relative to the pharmacy sector, including establishing implementation roadmaps. Understands and successfully articulates the value proposition for each IMS to external stakeholders, and is able to handle questions / challenges, and to consult on best practice;
  • Establishes, builds, and manages cross-functional relationships with assigned stakeholders to identify and drive new opportunities as well as engage in incremental solutions;
  • Secures and executes contract negotiations with existing and potential stakeholders;
  • Analyze progress against cost recovery targets, updates key stakeholders and influences action;
  • Ensures all project deliverables and milestones are met through collaboration with the Project Management, Product Management and Operations teams;
  • Remains in-tune with in clinical informatics and utilization of technologies that provide solutions/reporting for pharmacy sector stakeholders and ensures ongoing knowledge of all emerging technologies and services provided and how GS1 Canada can complement, support, enable or be adopted to improve pharmaceutical traceability through standard adoption and interoperability
  • Participates in industry and government events associated with related sectors and provides strategic insight to internal stakeholders to deliver and maximize value;
  • Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with all internal cross functions to achieve productivity and enable the culture and values of GS1 Canada;
  • Performs various other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, post graduate studies in Pharmacy (i.e. PharmD is an asset;
  • At least five (5) years’ experience within a Healthcare setting (Hospital, Retail, / Supply Chain / Logistics / Solution Provider) with demonstrated success developing, defining and launching workflow initiatives within a fast-paced, environment; a background in healthcare retail or pharmacy is an asset;
  • Passionate driver with proven influencing skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels to advance business priorities
  • Proven leadership skills and achievements that will effectively gain the confidence and support of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Previous proven successes working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project-based environment with emphasis on tight timelines, delivery and achieving budget;
  • Proven organizational abilities with strong attention to detail as well as effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Possesses superior communication skills to facilitate discussions with a diverse stakeholder group, influence and negotiate requirements;
  • Ability to build credibility through experience and a consensus driven approach;
  • Knowledge of GS1 Canada’s products and services (gained through internal networks or from a stakeholder environment) an asset;
  • Bilingualism (French & English) an asset.
