PositionSenior Consultant (Life Science Strategy)   Location: Berlin (Mitte), Germany   Responsibilities: The Senior Consultant role in the Life Science strategy group is a highly challenging and rewarding position which requires analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to be an effective strategy consultant. Responsibilities include:
  • Ability to work effectively on the successful planning, execution and delivery of one or two complex engagements simultaneously within a close-knit, cohesive team environment
  • Ability to deliver high-quality projects, including primary and secondary research through detailed and rigorous analysis and ownership of significant work-streams and/or client deliverables under the guidance of the senior team
  • Demonstrated high degree of organisation; working independently as needed to manage project deadlines and schedules when delivering high quality, client-ready work with minimal supervision
  • Provision of informal mentorship and support to junior consultants on client engagements and independent of project work to support professional development of the junior team
  • Demonstrated business maturity to perform effectively and add value within a client setting; which includes proactive client exposure, interaction and management
  • Active contribution to ongoing business development activities, including proposal development and supporting existing client relationships
  • Working with Leadership to develop and promote internal team and firm-wide initiatives as well as knowledge sharing/leading practices
Some travel is required for the role (10-15%), however usually limited to client specific engagements. The successful candidate will report to an Associate Director within the Berlin office who will support the candidates overall professional growth and development. Experience & Qualifications:
  • MBA, Ph.D., PharmD, MD or relevant Master's Degree preferred
  • 2-3 years previous Healthcare/Life Sciences strategy consulting experience; in particular, experience in commercial strategy, market access strategy, commercial due diligence, digital health and/or R&D strategy
  • Broad awareness of the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device industries
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with pharmaceutical research tools and resources
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills; with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex business issues effectively and influence others
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Demonstrated project management and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Advanced Excel-based analytics and modelling skills are strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SPSS desirable
  • Must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication and presentation skills in English, fluency in other European languages is an advantage; German language skills are desirable but not essential
