Tasks & responsibilities
  • As Global Category Head External Services & BPO (includes for example HR Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Consulting) you own and lead the global category with respect to developing, managing, driving and implementing the critical, long-term category strategies in the assigned area of responsibility in line with the overall BI Sourcing and business strategy including supplier selection and definition of Buying Channels to ensure continuity of supply, constantly increase productivity and optimize external spend (appr. 450 Mio € per year) in close collaboration with business partners on Senior Management level.
  • You supervise and drive the implementation of overall category strategies of assigned area of responsibility and bring market intelligence and potential innovation to BI.
  • Furthermore, you oversee key supplier's relationship within assigned global categories using governance/KPI leverage and coach your team in building mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to continuously improve performance or resolve potential issues at an early stage.
  • In your new role, you consult on critical, cross-functional projects to identify optimization potential and implement business opportunities such as make vs. buy decisions especially in the area of Business Process Outsourcing. In this context you lead multi-disciplinary, international business team to ensure process efficiency and external spend optimization.
  • You build effective Relationship Management with internal business partners on Senior Management level to look for business opportunity and to analyze and leverage internal demand by aligning on common goals with internal business partners considering the overall BI objectives.
  • And potentially, you lead and drive complex sourcing projects across Sourcing Areas.
Requirements
  • Master´s degree or diploma degree with major focus in Business Administration or Pharmaceutics
  • Expert level on category strategy development, managing global or regional sourcing projects
  • Deep knowledge of indirect sourcing areas like HR Services, BPO, Consulting, etc.
  • At least 6 years of leadership experience
  • Ability to manage different stakeholders on a Senior Management Level acting as challenger, consultant and advisor to develop business cases (e.g. make or buy)
  • Intercultural awareness with a global mind-set is needed for leading projects and businesses
  • Global working experience and willingness to travel regularly- internationally minded
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and negotiation skills
