Description


As an R&D Associate New Ingredients, you will:
    • Introduce new chemistry into Fabric Care products and develop new product formats by working closely with R&D Product Development teams (Global R&D Category Teams), Global Procurement, Global Regulatory, Legal etc assuming accountability for project delivery. Specifically, collaborate with the R&D Category Teams to generate and implement new product ideas in line with Global Brand Strategy and Pipeline.
    • Scout and evaluate new chemicals for application within the Fabric Care products.
    • Liaise with suppliers, 3^rd party manufacturers, universities, contractors and consultants or external laboratories to source know-how externally.
    • Laboratory activities: plan, define and execute laboratory experiments (formulating, stability tests, performance evaluation, etc). Interpret test results and document them in structured reports.
    • Support the line Manager on day-to-day activities, including regulatory review, competitive patent review, and literature search. Build detailed knowledge in relevant areas.
    • Support the publication of findings and protect intellectual property working with Patent/Legal Dept.
    • Plan project activities and propose plans to resource them. Evaluate and track project risks to help to manage them.
    • The role may include responsibility for one or more direct reports (e.g. R&D Assistant and Lab. technicians).
Is this you?
    • An excellent graduate degree in Chemistry or Master in Industrial Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Science. Very strong knowledge of stoichiometry and organic chemistry and the ability to apply these tools to lab experiments.
    • A proven capability to investigate scientific problems with an analytical mind on one hand and on the other hand to be able to explain and present the key facts in a brief simple and clear way.
    • Ability to present, negotiate and communicate efficiently in English. Italian language is not required.
    • Good PC skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Good knowledge in Statistics and ability to apply to lab experiment.
    • Preferably 2 to 3 year experience within R&D in Fast Moving Consumer Good, ideally development and formulation experience for household cleaning products.
