Description


Specific Responsibilities

    • Provide legal services to internal clients principally in relation to customer, partner, and supplier contracts.
    • Provide proactive negotiation support.
    • May assist from time to time in relation to mergers and acquisitions, HR, leasing, corporate, risk management, and other matters.
    • Work effectively with external counsel.
    • Contribute to the Legal teams efforts to continuously improve their services and the outcome for the business.
    • Identify strategies to protect the company's interests and minimize legal exposure.
    • Proactive in ensuring that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with applicable laws and the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
    • Adhere to health and safety rules and procedures.

      Education

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      An LL.B. and licensed to practice law in Ontario.

      Experience

      The individual must have exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. The individual must also have good commercial judgment and decision making ability. Excellent legal skills, including an advanced knowledge of contract law (primarily in the USA and Canada) and contractual issues presented in a broad range of contracting/purchasing arrangements (in particular, those concerning design-build, manufacturing and project management) are an asset. In addition, the individual must possess strong drafting skills and a working knowledge of other areas of law that impact upon contracting. Travel will be required from time to time
