Job descriptionJob Description Rolling 3 month contractJob Title: Formulation & Analytical ChemistJob Purpose To work alongside pharmaceutical development managers to create and optimize product formulations, delivery systems and analytical support for products in development and in the ‘field’.The role will initially involve analytical support in the field for a new product development. This will involve periods of time working in Norway followed by Scotland, Faroe Islands and Canada (TBC). Also during this time to work with the team on automating the analytical process as part of a Quality Assurance System.Key Responsibilities Manage and perform the analytical requirements of Benchmarks new product launch in Norway alongside the Lead Development ManagerWork with the development team with the aim of developing an automated monitoring system for medicines in water treatmentWork/lead formulation & analytical development for pharmaceuticals within Benchmark Animal Health Ltd’s development pipelineBe part of the BAHL Development team, working on the development of new AH medicines in Aquaculture, Farm animal and Companion animal business unitsQualifications And Experience Degree in Chemistry or equivalent experienceExtenisive HPLC experience, operational and method developmentFormulation and delivery experiencePersonal attributes/characteristicsExcellent written and verbal communicatorExcellent problem solving skillsPragmatic and commerically savvySelf-motivated and autonomous with effective time management abilitiesFlexible and able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally as requiredA clean driving licenceThis is a unique contract based on a ship in the Norwegian Fjords with a lab retrofitted to the ship. The contractor will join a team of contractors who work on a 2 week on 2 week off shift pattern, the 2 weeks on would be at sea on the ship tesing fish vaccines on live salmon fish farms. All transport to and from Norway would be arranged by the client.
