Description


Basic Job Functions

The position is responsible for overall Supply Chain Management, inclusive of the procurement function, raw material supply chain, stock holding and movement, production planning, customer service levels and finished goods dispatch to customers;

Procured and maintained agreed raw material stock levels to support production plan.

Negotiated and obtained favorable pricing for materials purchased.

Maintained safety stock at agree levels and effective control on aged stock.

Raw Materials/Procurement/Stock Management.

Ensure effective customer forecasting and demand planning so as to implement accurate production plans in accordance with this and ensure acceptable business performance and customer service.

Track production to plan and ensure variances are communicated to production to facilitate correction so as to service orders on time and in full.

Inform customers if there are any production delays and report on back orders monthly.

Maintain department expenses in line with budget and mitigate increasing costs via effective CIP programs.

Compiles monthly, quarterly and year end reports.

Capex motivations.

Review monthly expenses and report on deviations against budget/forecast.

Mentor, lead and manage staff to ensure inter and intra department cohesion and team work, a culture of performance to set standards and compliance to GMP, quality and good corporate governance.

8-10 Years Supply Chain Management Experience. ESSENTIAL

A Degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent. ESSENTIAL

Thorough knowledge and understanding (local and international) of the Procurement and Purchasing process

Warehouse Management

Forecasting

Production

Demand Planning and Scheduling processes within a Manufacturing environment, i.e. Chemical and/or Pharmaceutical would be beneficial.

Must be computer literate, MS Office with strong Excel skill

A good working knowledge of ERP systems.

Good knowledge of procurement tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain.

Must be Criminal Clear

Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area
