Job Description

We are looking for an Equity Research Associate to join our Pharmaceuticals team based in New York. As an Equity Research Associate, you will create, maintain, and update detailed financial models, acquire in-depth industry expertise, and contribute extensively to the team's written product. You will have a high level of responsibility and play an important role as part of the decision making process for the franchise.

The ideal candidate would possess 2-3 years or more of experience in equity research, preferably in the Specialty Pharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, or Biotech sectors. Proven analytical skills, financial modeling, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, and excellent written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities Include

Help build and maintain detailed financial models.
Perform complex financial modeling and valuation work, including discounted cash flow (DCF), multiple, and merger analyses.
Develop databases integral to our research product.
Write comprehensive research reports and present findings; draft notes on relevant investment themes, events, and breaking news.
Interface with company management teams, internal sales and trading personnel, and institutional investor clients.

Basic Requirements

Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree
    • 4 years of related work experience
    • Strong knowledge of investment banking, market, industry sector, and/or financial products
    • Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation or review of in-depth financial models involved in transactions
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills
    • Advanced skills in written and oral communications, and interpersonal relationship management
    • Solid analytical and sales skills

Preferred Requirements

    • MBA degree, with a Finance focus
    • 6 years of related work experience
