Description


  • Know and comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI). Review, recommend and revise SOP(s) and Work Instructions (WI) as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment to established 6S Standards. Practice safe lifting and carrying in accordance to EH&S guidelines. Keep all equipment (machines, tools, work stations, and storage units) organized and in good condition.
  • Know, understand and perform SAP activities and transactions related to MRP and purchasing. Analyze inventory availability in SAP to determine, confirm, and/or modify purchase orders to support STO requirements for pharmaceutical products. Assure all procurement is from the Approved Supplier list.
  • Communicate forecast requirements to supplier, monitor performance and report on supplier service levels (SSL) monthly, as required.
  • Communicate with all departments throughout the Company to provide assistance with purchasing related questions and NOR processing as needed.
  • Review and approve Certificates of Analysis (COA’s) and attain approval from the Quality Control Department, as applicable, prior to shipment to assure acceptability.
  • Maintain ERP files to include Product Information Records (PIRs) and Source Records. Create and modify Material Master Forms for bottle/bulk pharmaceutical products. Initiate and manage change controls for responsible materials and suppliers as applicable.
  • Assist with Supplier Agreements, all newly qualified suppliers and assure these Agreements are current with all existing applicable suppliers.
  • Prepare and maintain reporting and metrics. Monitor Product File for accuracy of products, approved distribution sites, the timely documentation and distribution of report.
  • Be an active member in site improvement projects, helping to streamline the process, maximize efficiencies, eliminate waste and help implement improvements to achieve company goals. (i.e. Kaizen events, 6S audits, etc). Support Continuous improvement efforts to achieve company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director, Supply Chain.

  • Knowledge of purchasing pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of purchasing procedures, inventory concepts, ethics, and anti-trust laws pertaining to purchases and contracts, required.
  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, negotiation skills, ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and computer skills – SAP, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), required.
  • Position functions semi-autonomously, and directly reports to the Director, Supply Chain.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of Buying and SAP experience, required. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents. Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence. Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts. Ability to present to groups across the organization.
  • Ability to perform computations such as percentages, ratios, rates and create excel formulas.
  • Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis. Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Some physical demand. Often lifts light-weight material. Rarely lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material. Typically sitting at a desk or table. Intermittently standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs. Repetitive Computer entry/typing. Periodic travel may be required.   • Normal office situation. Occasional Warehouse/ Manufacturing/ Production environments. Very good working conditions. No unusual health hazards; requires no special precautions. Probability of injury is remote.
