Description


New Product Development (NPD)
  • Review the existing Kotra’s ethical portfolio and recommend to Management for focus the SKUs with best commercial potential (taking into consideration Kotra expertise, market developments and trends, competition and profitability).
  • Taking into consideration the imminent Patent expiry schedule, Kotra expertise and Kotra’s presence in a particular therapeutic category, recommend new product development priorities to capitalize the opportunity arising with the patents expiry.
  • Develop a strategic marketing plan for Kotra ethical range that will positively differentiate from other generics and become the preferred choice of customers. Compelling Detailing Aids (supported with Bio-equivalent studies and / or clinical studies for therapeutic efficacy) will be a key tool to deliver the competitive advantage.
2.   Day to Day Operation
  • Through good knowledge and understanding of the customer needs (i.e doctors & pharmacies), the therapeutic class, the competitive context and the trading environment, formulate and recommend to senior management, the Annual 3-Year Marketing Plan to achieve business goals and increase market shares.
  • Once approved, to execute the plans in a timely and effective manner to deliver the Sales & profit targets set out in the Effort Priority (Marketing) Plan.
  • Manage the Marketing Plan within agreed budget, in order to maximize sales & marketing effectiveness from the investments.
  • Continuously review competitor moves and respond as necessary to sustain competitive advantage.
  • Champion and lead the New Product Development Projects through a Project Team comprising Marketing, R&D and Regulatory to deliver the new product development brief’s target on product profile, quality, cost and timing.
  • Oversee the sales and stock forecast together with the Product Manager and Sales Manager.
  • Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing staff and oversee their daily activities.
  • Coach and motivate staff to perform their duties effectively and optimize their potential.
  • Maintain close working relationship with the Sales Team to further understand the specific needs of our customer for successful implementation of marketing strategies and plans.
  • Work closely with Regulatory Department on timely registration on new formulations/ products.
  • Monitor and ensure development and execution marketing activities are in line with the Pharmaceutical Ethical Guidelines.
  • Develop a network of external contact (e.g. MOH,MOPI, MMA, MPA, etc) in order to get timely market intelligence and when situations arise, jointly with industry association, be able to influence policy, regulations etc.
  • Conduct Product Training and Selling Skills jointly with product managers/training managers to ethical sales team.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: INTERNATIONAL MARKETS
  • Adaptation of local marketing plan and materials for international markets.
  • Product training for international sales force when the need arises.
3.   Knowledge/Experience/Skills required
    • Degree holder with science or related discipline, preferably a Pharmacist.
    • At least 8-year pharmaceutical experience, with min 3 years in marketing managerial position.
    • Sound knowledge of key therapeutic area (Antibiotic, Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Allergies and Asthma, Pain management, Gastroenterology)
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to demonstrate strategic approach to problem solving and business development.
    • A decisive manager and displays sound judgment.
    • Good Project Management skills.
    • Leadership and managerial skills to guide, influence and motivate to get the best out of the team.
    • Good knowledge of the customer environment i.e. GPs, Pharmacies, Hospitals, etc.
    • Good inter-personal skills.
