Responsibilities
  • Managing Processing and Packaging department objectives; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Monitors the implementation and attention to detail for lock out/tag out, SDS and Accident Reports.
  • Manages the operations of production areas to ensure that safety, volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Ensures physical and staffing resources are adequate to meet the organization's production schedule.
  • Manages the activities of production personnel including workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to achieve optimal OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency).
  • Assures employee staffing for plant operations meets established standards, with the least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
  • Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap; monitors scrap and rework data.
  • Achieve performance targets for productivity, labor efficiencies, on-time delivery, machine downtime, and inventory levels, while mainatining wuality standards within production
  • Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and assess and create plans to grow the skills and competencies of frontline employees to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Manages tracks and communicates operational KPIs.
  • Responsible for Manufacturing month-end and year-end inventory tracking. Makes suggestions for capital expenditures.
  • Works with Management on strategic planning for staffing and operations.
  • Develops and adheres to annual budgets.
  • Supports new product development activities from ideation to post-launch review, partnering with support department personnel to ensure successful, profitable product launches.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have experience as a Manager in a food processing or similar industry while driving continuous improvement. This is an off-shift position covering hours from 4PM-2AM
  • 10+ years previous manufacturing supervision/management role
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma a plus
  • Previous food industry/confectionary experience preferred, pharmaceutical and/or made-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Understands process flow, from raw material to finished product
  • Microsoft suite knowledge – Powerpoint for presentations, Excel (pivot tables) for reporting
  • ERP experience: NAV preferred (SAP/Oracle)
